The secrets of successful Social Media in the business world was shared to 40 attendees at a workshop on 21st July organized by the Hermanus Business Chamber. It was presented by IT specialist Jeanette du Toit from Jaydee Media and owner of Hermanus Online Magazine. She is a strong speaker who provided in-depth advice for novice to intermediate marketers.
The facts proved that there are currently more than 2,2 billion Active Social Media users in the world with the majority using mobiledevices. Digital technology is the communication method of choice when sharing information networking socially and professionally. Jeanette also showed how the face of marketing has changed and that businesses are now utilizing social media to generate sales.
The statistics are staggering.

- Instagram: 430 million
- LinkedIn: 429 million
- Google Plus: 440 million
- Twitte: 325 million
- Pinterest: 110 million.
Engagement is the new Word of Mouth and social media has become the most preferred way of communicating. In 2008 10% of the population used social media and 87%.of the population used social media in 2016.
Jeanette interactively demonstrated how to pinpoint your location on Google Maps and then send it to visitors or potential clients .She did not shy away from sharing several tips and useful ways of utilizing social media to benefit your business, some by ways of using free survey tools.
